The happiest seminar in the world

In fact it is a series of highly sophisticated market strategies and some of the most advanced theories on customer service in the business that keeps the Disney cogs turning. And all of it comes from the business innovation that is the Disney Institute.

Kwantlen’s business school brings one of the largest brands to Surrey Campus to allow participants to “experience the business behind the magic.”

When one thinks of Disney, words like innocence, happiness and dreams tend to come to mind. It seems unlikely that words like “demographic measurement” and “strategic business model” would be associated with the whimsical dream world of Disney, which continues to bewitch people of all ages. We all grew up with the magical mouse and, whether or not it was with the movies, theme parks or merchandises it’s safe to say that the Disney name has affected each of us in one way or another.  It would be nice to imagine that magic is the good old fashioned culprit behind the splendor that Disney creates but unfortunately it just isn’t so.

I’m sure the executives at Disney want us to believe that fairy dust and star wishing has brought the company to where it is today, that just means they are doing their jobs.

In fact it is a series of highly sophisticated market strategies and some of the most advanced theories on customer service in the business that keeps the Disney cogs turning. And all of it comes from the business innovation that is the Disney Institute. I’m sure many, not unlike myself, were intrigued by the flyers and emails announcing the Nov 30 full day seminar, held at Kwantlen’s Surrey Campus.

It’s hard to imagine what Disney could bring to the table or teach Kwantlen business students. But upon further investigation, I discovered that the Disney Institute is more than just another branch off the Disney tree. It is a critically acclaimed facility that provides sophisticated workshops and seminars on customer service, management methodology and organizational strategies.

The Institute’s brand of business excellence is currently being taught at locations across the U.S., in more than 45 countries around the world and has inspired accomplished business leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and executives to achieve their goals of business excellence. The full day seminar to be held at Surrey Kwantlen runs from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Participants can pre-register online at KeysVancouver.com, by phone 877-544-2384, or by fax 913-712-9247. The Program registration is around $400 per person and includes all course materials plus catered breakfast, breaks, and lunch.
