KSA By-Election Candidates Announced

Eight nominees will be running for five spots on council news2-ksa-finance-ksa

On Thursday, Oct. 13, the names of all of the candidates participating in the Kwantlen Student Association by-election were released.

The by-election polling is scheduled to take place on Oct. 25 and 26, whereupon all students will be able to cast their votes for their chosen candidates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all campuses. Polling stations in Surrey will be located in the atrium of the Main building, in the main Rotunda at Richmond, by the Bookstore in the East building at Langley, and in the Student Lounge near the Cafeteria at Cloverdale.

Currently, a total of eight candidates are running for five of the 10 vacant representative positions in the KSA. Samantha Davis is running for Aboriginal Student Representative, Zahid Dossa is running for Students of Colour Representative, Kayla England and Thereysa Tabert are running for Mature Students Representative, Natasha Farris, Daniel H. Hurt and Neelham Dhanda are all running for Faculty of Arts Representative, and Jay Reedy is running for Faculty of Business Representative.

The remaining five positions will remain vacant: Cloverdale Campus Representative, Faculty of Academic & Career Advancement Representative, Faculty of Health Representative, Faculty of Design Representative, and Faculty of Trades & Technology Representative.

The conclusive results of the by-election will be made public after the polls close and the votes are tallied, after which the nominated candidates will assume their respective positions within the KSA Council.
