Interesting article but you can get three rolls of 35mm ISO 100 redscale film for $15 on B&H Photo; and they have 34mm ISO 50 - 200 (choose what ISO you want) for $11. I believe they also sell it in Vancouver at Beau Photo and they probably sell it at Kerrisdale Cameras or Leo's Cameras (although I've never asked for it at the later two); but with the dollar at par I've found B&H to be reasonably priced even when you include shipping and taxes. I used the Lomography film that B&H sells for some photo III projects at Kwantlen and I've enjoyed it. Places process it no problem, just like normal film. As well, all three local stores I listed offer some kind of student discount.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=redscale&N=0&InitialSearch=yes

So much easier to just buy it then to "make" it!

Hi Matthew -- i'm very interested in finding the historical marker shown above in your article. Can you give me any specific information about its location? I would have to find Port Douglas by road, through Pemberton. Is the marker visible from the road? Any information you could provide would be great! I'm not sure if this site will notify me of any reply, so if you would kindly reply directly to me at wjmclaughlin@hotmail.com, that would be awesome. Thanks so much! Bill.

I shoot film a lot. I like the fact that film requires some skill and some faith. I then get the processor to put the prints on CD so I can use them digitally.

Stephanie, I completely agree with you. And if I had been writing the article about politics, I would have been much more inclined to include speculation of that sort.

Adam, rock n' roll doesn't care about you.

I don't see the big deal if someone wants to work more hours. If some students oppose it (looks like 4-5 at the meeting) then run for office and work the hours yourself, otherwise let the people in there do the work they are willing to do.

If you look at the pay of Kwantlen student union directors compared to other universities of the same size Kwantlen is underpaid. This is a fact.

I say if your willing to put in more hours per week, why not? I'd rather them do it than me!

I actually like this Council for making some necessary changes. Too many previous Council members have been shy, timid, or plain ignorant when it comes to challenging the status quo.

You only learn how inefficient something is when you see the other side. I heard that the GM from BCIT came in a few weeks ago and completely discredited some policies of the old guard. The old reps were shocked by her comments.

She was very critical of the way the place was run and commended the current Council for moving forward in many respects.

Good for this Council, we need fresh thinking at Kwantlen! Finally!

Corporatism isn't just about big business and its effect on small businesses. You're leaving out the most important facet of corporatism: government. It's only through government regulations and subsidies that large corporations can squelch competition in the form of small businesses. Without government help, this simply wouldn't occur, and BIG BIZ wouldn't be nearly as big as its gotten.

As a student, I am a keen observer of the KSA, and like the commentators so far, I also hide behind my computer and speculate. So, in support of this trend, allow me to say the following:

RAF also 'breezed' through audits. That doesn't mean anything. Let the allegations being made by this board be confirmed or denied by a qualified 3rd party. No point in jumping to conclusions.

The staff union thing doesn't mean anything, they have tried to unionize multiple times under different boards, no big change here.

In fact, I remember that RAF took over with union talks going on (left behind because of the previous board) but amazingly managed to convince staff to decertify. And here we are again, full circle.

Any council with something to prove against their predecessors does what this one is doing. It happened in 2007, exact same thing. Again, here we are full circle.

I hope students can at least see that the KSA is a struggle for power. Again, when is desmond going to be GM again? Can't wait for that full circle. It will eventually happen, desmond is not going to let go, not with millions at stake, he'd be stupid to let it go.

Anyone see a trend. Let's be objective. No one is better than the other.
