The Biltmore went girly for a good cause on Oct. 10. Three “girl” bands played – the Oh Wells, Artinair and Thee Ahs – for $10, and all of the proceeds went to Women Against Violence Against Women. The two bands that I had the chance to photograph were full of energy and promoted a casual, friendly atmosphere. Cupcakes (homemade by the Oh Wells’ smiley frontwoman Sarah Jickling) were sold for $3. One lucky woman won a free cupcake for dancing the best during an Oh Wells song, and we all became jealous and upset.
