The Township of Langley’s 19-plus “Sip n’ Dips” nights are returning to The Outdoor Experience waterpark at the Aldergrove Community Centre as part of its summer night community events programming.

Adults can pre-register to enjoy a kid-free water park featuring pools, a hot tub, waterslides, and a lazy river, all while enjoying craft beer, wine, and seltzers provided by local organizations throughout July and August.

The township has been bringing 19-plus events to the community for a few years, and says it is important to provide adults the opportunity to have a night out in a kid-free atmosphere.

“With Sip n’ Dips, it’s a unique experience for adults to come together,” the Township of Langley wrote in an email statement to The Runner.

“As with all our events, the goal is to bring community members together to have fun and socially interact with each other.”

Dates for “Sip n’ Dips” nights are July 4, July 25, Aug. 8, and Aug. 29, and the events will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Tickets are $18.80 plus tax for entry and one drink ticket, or $23.80 plus tax for entry and two drink tickets. One piece of government issued photo ID is required to enter and no outside drinks are allowed.

Attendees will be limited to a two-drink maximum per serve, and guests who appear to be intoxicated will be denied service and may be removed from the event, the township wrote.

Guests are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle and folding chairs. Lounge chairs and tables at the park are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Other themed nights at The Outdoor Experience will take place throughout the summer, including family and youth nights. There will also be three dive-in movie nights, which will feature Kung Fu Panda 4 on July 18, Wish on Aug. 1, and The Garfield Movie on Aug. 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm for $8 plus tax per person.

Pre-registration is required for all waterpark events. Registration opens seven days prior to the start of the event on the Langley Township’s website

For those who want to attend summer night community events without a price tag, there will be free outdoor concerts at the Willoughby Community Park amphitheatre, featuring a mix of local artists, including blues musician Jimmy D. Lane on July 4, R&B singer Krystle Dos Santos on July 11, and funk band Dino and The Sound of Soul on July 18.

The township is also hosting free outdoor movie nights showing Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire on July 18 at 9:30 pm in Topham Park and Trolls Band Together on Aug. 22 at 8:30 pm in James Hill Park.
