My 2024 Halloween costume predictions
From Deadpool & Wolverine to Mean Girls, many iconic films will inspire costumes this year

Halloween is fast approaching, and 2024 will be a great year for costumes with the various movies and T.V. shows that were released — most of them being sequels. Many of these films have iconic and recognizable characters who are of great inspiration for costumes this Halloween.
The Deadpool & Wolverine costumes will be all over the streets this year, perfect for a duo. The Mean Girls musical, released earlier this year, could possibly inspire people to bring back iconic looks.
Joker: Folie à Deux was released at the perfect time — just a few weeks before Halloween — and trick or treaters may bring back the Joker’s recognizable looks or Lady Gaga‘s take on Harley Quinn. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is another popular sequel with distinguishable characters that came out earlier this year.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which came out last month, brought back iconic characters from the original movie released 35 years ago. It has inspired Halloween costumes ever since and will continue to do so. Last, but definitely not least, Inside Out 2 has taken the world by a storm, and people can definitely expect to see some of its characters come to life this Halloween.
There’s no doubt these movies will serve as costume inspiration for many people this year, whether it be your friend group or favourite celebrities.
Celebrities like Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Jenna Ortega have been gaining a ton of popularity this year, leading many people, including myself, to look forward to their fun, over-the-top costumes.
Halloween has always been my favourite time of the year, and my friend group and I always do group costumes to make it more fun. This year, we are planning on dressing up as the rock band, KISS, as we are big fans of their music.
In lieu of everything that happened this year, I’m looking forward to Halloween and encourage everyone to try something new if you dress up. Remember, you are never too old to dress up, so it’s important to have fun and do something crazy.
