Summer, swoon, sway on the Seine: The finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty
From a #TeamConrad girl for life, this finale fed families, mine included

From Season 1 to Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP), the love triangle between Isabel (Belly) Conklin and the two Fisher brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, has been nothing short of a whirlwind of emotions for fans of the popular television series.
Warning: spoilers ahead!
It has been some days since the Season 3 finale of TSITP, and the events of the episode are still replaying in my head. The entire series took us through numerous highs and lows — from Belly planning her wedding with Jeremiah, to calling off said wedding and promptly hopping on a plane to Paris. This season pulled at everyone’s heartstrings.
Belly did not need to find herself this season because she already knew who to choose deep down. When the teasers and rumours of Season 3 first came out, I thought she was going to choose herself in the end. That ending would not have impressed. Why do a whole new season if Belly is just going to choose herself? Thank you, Jenny Han, for sticking to the books — for the most part.
Belly ending up with Benito would have had Team Conrad girls — myself included — crying for several days. Benito was a pointless character to have on the show — sorry, not sorry, Jenny! What’s the point of introducing someone so close to the end of the series? In the book, Benito was only mentioned in Conrad’s letters, and it should have stayed that way in the show, too.
The buildup to Belly and Conrad finally being together was a 10/10 performance. From the moment Conrad showed up at Belly’s door to having her run after him in the Paris train station was a cinematic masterpiece. I couldn’t have imagined a better ending to the show. Belly chose Conrad for the right reasons. They were meant to be all along. #TeamConrad forever! If she chose Jeremiah, nothing would make sense anymore.
Despite my love for the finale, Season 3 was not my favourite season, but it had some incredible moments throughout. The ending, of course, you cannot beat. I would rate the entire season 7/10. Its only downside? Too much Jeremiah and very little Conrad on screen.
Also, why were we hating on Conrad “who are you” Fisher so much this season? Jeremiah was the one who cheated on Belly in Cabo over spring when they “were on a break.”
There was a huge moment missing from the books that was not included in the season. A Belly and Conrad wedding. Finishing the finale without a wedding on screen was disappointing.
However, my mood immediately changed when Han announced Belly would be hitting more milestones in the TSITP movie. OK, freaking out over here!
A movie is exactly what this series needed to capture every last detail of Conrad, Belly, and Jeremiah’s lives. The only downside is that the movie won’t be releasing in 2026. Sad face. If only they filmed the movie when they were shooting Season 3 (unless they did so secretly).
Whether you are #TeamBelly, #TeamJeremiah, or #TeamConrad, I hope you were pleased with how the finale ended — even though there wasn’t a wedding!
