5th annual Croissant Crawl showcases Metro Vancouver’s pastry scene
The crawl features more than 30 vendors and has grown to Langley this season

From banana-themed pastries to fall flavours, croissants lovers can take their pick across Metro Vancouver.
The Metro Vancouver Croissant Crawl returns Sept. 25 to Oct. 4. The fifth-annual crawl features 35 vendors across a self-guided croissant tour with some vendors also offering a drink pairing.
Founder of the Metro Vancouver Croissant Crawl, Laura Wong-Thompson, started the crawl after moving to Vancouver and trying to find belonging.
“I love the subtle complexity of a croissant. The contrast of the initial crunch and the tender buttery layers,” Wong-Thompson wrote in a statement to The Runner. “I host the crawl as an invitation for others to take time to enjoy treats and make memories with their friends.”
Two judges will award the “Most Creative Croissant” title. Alex Kim, Five Sails Restaurant co-owner and chef, and Carson Ting, Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Artist and founder of Chairman Ting.
“Kim is such an accomplished chef, and I thought it would be fun to turn the tables and have him as a judge. Ting represents another discipline of creativity with his visually stunning art,” Wong-Thompson wrote.
This year, the crawl includes taste-off challenges and has grown to Langley with three vendors.
“[Taste-off challenges] are curated head-to-head matchups [that] showcase unique uses of a shared ingredient,” Wong-Thompson wrote.

One of the match-ups is a cheesecake croissant taste-off. It features Blacksmith Bakery’s apple caramel crumble cheesecake croissant and the Queen B Croissant by Dilemma Bakehouse in North Vancouver.
With a location in Fort Langley, Blacksmith Bakery also created an apple caramel crumble cheesecake cold foam latte.
This is the first time Blacksmith Bakery has participated in the Metro Vancouver Croissant Crawl, owner Stephan Schigas says, adding that they wanted to try something different.
“We have an apple caramel crumble cheesecake on our menu that we’ve had in there for a few years now, and we just thought we’d do a twist on that with a croissant,” Schigas says.
He adds that he hopes people enjoy their croissant and drink pairing, which is also available at Blacksmith Bakery’s Latimer Village location.

Also in Fort Langley, Sabà Cafe features both a tiramisu croissant and latte.
Fresh St. Market created a crème brûlée croissant — available at its locations across Metro Vancouver, including Langley’s Walnut Grove and Panorama Village and Fleetwood in Surrey.
“I hope the Metro Vancouver Croissant Crawl will be a great way to kick off fall with cozy croissants, sips, and friends.”
