A guy named Corey Haim died of a “suspected” overdose. I didn’t know who he was until I did a bit of research, but a lot of other people on Twitter seem to remember him from their childhoods when he was a well-known actor and, you know, not a drug addict.I looked him up on a blog called Washed Up Celebrities and his bio came up right away.Apparently he was “one of Hollywood’s top teen stars in the late 80s” until he “flamed out” and started doing too much coke and eating too much fast food.
#BieberIsMyHero
I didn’t even know who this little guy was until a few weeks ago, but now that I do, he’s really starting to get on my nerves.
Justin Bieber fans – “Beliebers” as they like to call themselves – clog up the trending topics list everyday with their constant praise for the 16-year-old pop idol, pissing the rest of us off royally in the process.
#GodIs
God is a trending topic!
Turns out a lot of Twitterers love God, otherwise known as “the light,” “the one person you can’t lie 2,” “everything,” and “the Greatest.”
What this shows us is that you don’t have to be a pop star, a Hollywood actor or a coked-up superslut to be recognized as an important cultural figure in North America.
He’s not as popular on Twitter right now as, say, Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga, but he’s getting there.
Max, I know that this is just your blog post and so in theory, it's cool to give your opinion please don't say you did a job if you didn't. I myself choose to keep my intelligence intact by actually "researching" something I don't know a lot about, rather than just lazily looking at ONE blog, which by the way is just one other person's opinion, not the facts. For example, before I decided to comment I figured I would take the time to get informed about what you were talking about. I checked out the blog bio you spoke of and found it flawed and fraught with the same old gutless kind of trashing that is so beloved lately. So I'm just questioning why you decided to regurgitate it at all? It paints you as just a desperate, cloned sheep looking to get some reaction and hits to your blog. Mission accomplished. I'm sure that his family appreciated that you disguised it as perhaps, just maybe, a respectful and decent comment by tactfully wording it's title to get you to a popular spot. That surely was decent of you. The man is only dead after all. No decency or respect owed there. I'm hoping that you don't actually work in journalism, it would not be your forte. Actual journalists know that research is the key to success and abiding by a certain moral code is the only thing that keeps your career in tact over time. Facts not fiction to form an opinion.
It doesn't matter if you didn't know him, no one gives a shit. About you or about your little regurgitated blog that's been cut and pasted a thousand times by loads of other sheep. Move onto living targets and let the dead rest in peace. And yes I am aware that I gave you the reaction you sought so you're laughing but I needed an outlet to vent off my frustration at constantly hoping for original, good, creative writing but ending up finding posts like this. Hopefully the next poor hopeful soul you reel in finds you petty and boring too but if not, thank goodness there's people like you that serve a purpose in the world. To remind me why I never bother reading blogs in the first place.
