Check out the following food items next time you’re looking for a bite to eat on campus

As someone who’s been attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University for seven years now, I can’t think of any other food places I’ve visited more often than Tim Hortons.

In case anyone is wondering how much food I’ve gotten from Timmies, I remember a time earlier this year when a friend group of mine received a gift card for Tim Hortons in return for a favour we did at an event. After the event was over, someone passed the gift card to me to keep.

I remember asking if the group was sure about letting me have sole possession of the gift card. My friend’s response was something along the lines of, ‘You consume more Tim Hortons than all of us combined, I think the card will be better used by you,’ more or less.

I’ve also been a part of a few group photos carrying a large Iced Capp.

These are just two of the many stories relating to my consumption of Tim Hortons food at KPU. Anyways, as my go-to food place, here are my favourite items

TimBits

I can’t remember exactly when I started getting TimBits regularly at KPU. However, I do know I’ve been getting them as far back as when campuses re-opened and in-person classes returned during the pandemic.

I usually grab the 20-pack option for TimBits since I don’t need more than that during the day and I can also eat them the following day as a small snack. I usually get chocolate-glazed TimBits since that’s one of only two flavours regularly available at the Surrey campus. I do sometimes get the birthday cake TimBits every once in a while though, especially if a special occasion comes up.

When available at the Surrey campus, I order different flavours as often as possible since I know they’re going to be gone eventually. Some other TimBits I’ve had throughout the years are honey glazed, sourdough glazed, old-fashioned plain, and old-fashioned glazed.

Specific TimBit boxes I recommend are a mix of chocolate-glazed and honey-glazed since they’re the most common and are also simple flavours to start out with before trying the crazier options.

The ability to share this treat with other people is also a bonus.

Chocolate Croissant

I recently tried the chocolate croissant and it’s one I wish I had ordered a long time ago. While not as sweet as TimBits, it is a nice change to order something else if the TimBits I usually like aren’t available. Tim Hortons also offers regular croissants, but I prefer the chocolate and other sweet foods.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s also the cheapest food item out of what I like to order, which is nice for anyone wanting a quick bite on a tighter budget.

Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap

I like to order this wrap when I want something more savoury and substantial.

The wrap is also relatively more expensive compared to other items I usually get, but it’s still a solid option for something more stomach-filling, especially for a long day.

With a mix of bacon, chicken, ranch, and a few vegetables, it’s a nice, more compact snack to eat during a small break in a class or a quick walk to an event at KPU.
