As another summer slowly arrives, so does job fair season. Earlier this year, Canada’s unemployment rate rose to 6.1 per cent and the economy lost 2,200 jobs in March, the CBC reported. Statistics Canada found student loan debt in the country is $28,000 on average.

There are opportunities at job fairs for students looking to smoothly transition from graduating post-secondary to landing a well-paying job. Plenty of these fairs are happening virtually and in-person across the Lower Mainland. While some have paid entry, others are free and only require online registration.

JobFairX virtual job fairs

There will also be a Coquitlam-based technology virtual job fair on June 17 and a Vancouver-based one on June 18 for those interested in getting involved in the industry.
