KCC suffers loss to UFV but organizers see a bright future for cricket at Kwantlen.
Special to The Runner

Kwantlen Cricket Club played a 40 overs game against the University of Fraser Valley’s cricket team at Minoru Park in Richmond on Sept. 11. KCC’s bowlers did a decent job in restricting UFV to a chase-able score in a quick outfield. Sunny and Ikagar bowled really well taking two wickets each. KCC bowlers restricted UFV to the score of 310 runs in 40 overs.
In response, KCC started off well with Parbraham and Gurinder Virk scoring half centuries (50+). Usman and Ahmed kept scoring runs at a brisk rate keeping Kwantlen in the game. Fighting innings from Monty and Ashutosh almost brought the game home. In the end, KCC lost by 5 runs with two overs remaining in the game. Positives for KCC were the enthusiasm of the players to be a part of KCC and performance of Gurinder Mundi and Karan Singh, who playing their first game for KCC with hard ball, exceeded the expectations. The future looks bright for KCC and for the game of cricket at Kwantlen.
